The REAL Jumping Frogs of Calaveras County


I was talking to a friend of mine the other day who is from Angels Camp, California. When I told her I was taking a class about Mark Twain she got excited and wanted to know if I read the story about the jumping frogs. Apparently there is an actual frog jumping competition that goes on there. She said there are even little plaques on the ground, similar to the stars in Hollywood, for the winning frog from each year. I believe it has been going on for about 80 years.
